I'm born on August 29th but also happen to have three of my planets in Leo. i've always been told that I act much more like a Leo then a virgo, although many of my virgo tendencies seem to be surfacing more and more.

I too was told that I was born Leo. I think at times those Leo's I seemed to attract wanted to mold me. Im a Virgo thru and thru with only the emotional triats of Leo's (my opinion). My mother and both her parents were Leo's along with an ex husband of mine.
I know that the 24th day at soem point is when Virgo goes into Leo. When I am not sure. Everoyne believes different. Some say Virgo's last day is the 22nd, some say the 23rd and then some say on the 24th. Funny.. nothing is ever exact in this world but me *laughs*

The day changes every year. The months of the year and the exact dates of when each sign passes from one to the next do not always match up.

To find out for sure, you'd need to look at an ephemeris or you can go to www.astro.com and enter your birth day, time, and location. Just like on a 12 month calendar with each month having about 30 days each, each of the 12 sun signs gets 30 degrees of the 360 degrees of the circle that makes up an astrology chart. So even if your friend is only 0 degrees Virgo, he's still a Virgo rather than a Leo. That means, too that even if his sun is in 29 degrees and 59 seconds of Leo, he's a Leo rather than a Virgo.

Venus and Mercury are almost always in the same sign as your sun sign or in the sign immediately before or after your sun sign. That means that many of the Virgos here who feel more Leonine likely have their Venus and/or Mercury in Leo. Same with Leos who identify more with Virgo traits. It's likely that your Venus and/or Mercury is in Virgo.

Any Leo with their sun in the 6th house (Virgo's house) or Virgo with their sun in the 5th house (Leo's House) is going to feel the pull of the other sign in their expression as well.

Born on August 23 (78) I'm a Virgo with Leo tendencies. I was born just 4 hours and 28 minutes after the Sun went into Virgo.

I'm not sure what the ultimate meaning behind "Cusp of Exposure" is, but I wonder if it has anything to do with a desire/drive to expose the truth. Personally, I have a huge ambition to do this, whether it's with bigger picture or smaller things. I always want to get down to the meat of matters. (But for me this could be Scorpio rising influence)

In addition to the theory of Mercury (and sometimes Venus) being so close to the Sun - and that this may be why so many Virgos have Leo traits, and vice versa - I'd also like to point out that the Sun & Mercury are often in "mutual reception" in Virgo charts.
