Overview:
Uranus takes approximately 84 years to come full circle. This slow-moving planet's transits are long-lasting, and each transit takes its time to unfold. As Uranus transits a point in our chart, retrogrades back over it, and then hits it again in direct motion, it imparts its own special wisdom upon the point in question—the areas of lives and parts of our psyches ruled by that point.
How Uranus affects our lives depends very much on whether we resist its influences or we try to work with the planet of independence, liberation, and enlightenment. While Saturn slows down our inner clock in order to persuade us to face reality, Uranus speeds up our tempo in order for us to consider taking risks and making changes.
Whichever part of our lives and of our psyches that Uranus touches, especially by hard transit, is an area where we begin to feel restless and dissatisfied with any routine or "status quo" connected to it. Our consciousness regarding these parts of ourselves and our lives is accelerated to the point that others might consider our actions (and reactions) hasty or rebellious. If mishandled, we may act in inconsiderate and brusque ways.
Transiting Uranus acts to disrupt, change, and re-do whatever it touches. Uranus frees us from thinking inside the box, and offers us opportunities for reaching out and trying something completely new. While Saturn slows us down, Uranus speeds up our lives, offering us chances to take some risks and to experiment with totally new ways of living and interacting with others and our environment. Uranus is forward-looking and does not have patience with lifestyles or attitudes that are attached to the past or the traditional. Transiting Uranus shakes us up and offers us a chance to be more aware of our individuality. Uranus doesn't accept stagnation nor does it accept restriction. Personal freedom is highlighted. Transiting Uranus acts to awaken and to make us aware of our feelings of being restricted and constricted. Uranus surprises, jolts, and stimulates.

Re: Uranus in Pisces, Opposition Virgo Sun
Mon, December 8, 2008 - 2:52 PMUranus is in Pisces 2003-2010
WIth Uranus in Pisces we will see a larger planet changing signs signaling a shift in the mass consciousness. These changes are usually not conscious right away. That is, we don't really completely understand why these things are happening until a while after they have occurred. It is almost like our subconscious has to work it out and then we can see everything in perspective. While it is happening, it can be a little daunting and a little scary as is all change.
And change is the word for Uranus. When Uranus sweeps through for its 7-year visit it will be in the sign Pisces. Uranian energy is volatile. It strikes seemingly without warning. But the sudden upheavals that occur have actually been percolating under the surface for a while until they simply erupt.
HANDLING THE ENERGY
The key to handling any Uranus transit is to stay calm and GO WITH THE FLOW. I can't emphasize that last phrase enough for all the Gemini's, Virgo's, and Sag's and especially the Pisces sun sign people who may be getting a jolt or two. (Remember, this may take up to 7 years to affect you, depending on what day you were born). These signs must especially watch for any excess willfulness, or moving from one thing to another too abruptly (because you think you just can't stand it any longer) during this time.
Having your sun or any major planet in your chart in these signs will increase the sudden effects of this transit in your everyday life. When Uranus enters a time when it conjuncts, opposes, or squares (90 degree angle) your sun, it initiates a series of sudden revelations. These either awaken a new part of you, a new creative aspect, or they abruptly shake you out of complacency pushing you to become more independent, or at least more YOU, the true-to-your-soul you. This can also create a sense of nervousness, the feeling that the next shoe is about to drop. It is exciting, it is interesting and never boring.
So for those more under the influence of this aspect than most, the only way to get mental and physical relief from this transit is to stay calm and let the changes take place. Go with it. Ride the ups and downs and see it through. There is a reason that these things happen. Mainly it is for soul growth. It shakes you out of your normal routine and asks that you be ready for anything, anytime.
In general I have a few ideas about what may be of importance here at this time, 2003 -2010. Here is a brief list:
*DELUSION OR FREEDOM
People will be looking for something that looks like a way for all to have a "better life," but could be deceived because they fail to see something for what it is. They will want to see things for what they COULD be, and therefore become susceptible to giving up some personal freedom for the supposed benefit of all in order for this to occur.
*PUSHY GROUPS
Uranus was in Pisces in the 1920s and and showed the rising power of a disenfranchised part of society with an amendment giving women the right to vote (and shortly thereafter, Prohibition). We may again see women banding together to exert force in order to get society to shape itself into a more ideal form, one that will be of benefit to ALL women, and, in a larger sense, possibly all of humanity.
*NEW FORMS OF ART AND MUSIC
Some really unique artistic and/or musical stylings or advances, possibly involving new technology. But, unlike the Uranus in Aquarius, where you have this mental thing -- playing around with stuff for the sake of doing something different or innovative -- this will be like really wanting to communicate and heal with art and music. Under this aspect we got the Roaring Twenties, a time of great freedom in lifestyle and experimentation in music (Jazz) and art (Art Deco in the 20s). It was an instant switch from Vaudeville and Burlesque to the next new thing -- movies. This transit may produce some more spiritually-based movies as well.
*HEALING
Along with art and music, healing may take a very different turn. People may be more open to alternative ideas about healing (and the spiritual part of it), or there may be new options for healing that involve a mix of technology and hands-on modalities. This may include an alternative use of electricity and liquid (salt water?), maybe in the form of magnetic force. This may be a time when there will be more acceptance of healing the magnetic field, or aura, which encompasses the body (which is mainly composed of liquid).
MINI-TRENDS WHILE URANUS IS IN PISCES
For the first couple of years, 2003 and 2004, we will experience the agreeable trine aspect between Saturn and Uranus. This simply provides an opportunity for assistance, it doesn't mean it will happen. Trines support a sort of complacency and inertia, and along with Neptune in Aquarius, is supporting a dream -- not reality. What I'm saying is that the solutions to problems are out there, but will anyone implement them? Only those who have any influence on society and that have the Uranian consciousness, that conscious retrieval or subconscious channeling of great original ideas. Even then, it is not a sure thing.
Along with this will come one year (2003-4) where Jupiter will enter Virgo and be opposite of Uranus in Pisces. This will certainly give a push to revolutionary urges. It will give the green light to receptivity of that which is not mainstream. This could involve the healthcare community in particular. Things will definitely be coming to a head and require a new way of looking at the system.
This is already happening, as the HMO thing is not working. It is actually forcing doctors to choose between a larger workload and less money, or refusing HMO customers. New ideas will be entertained. When Jupiter hits the square to Saturn, this may be implemented -- probably around 2005. I also think there may be some new medical discoveries that will help humanity in some way. They may not be available to everyone, but they may be out there at this time.
Although Saturn is on the sun of our country, making things seem a little fearful, we just have to remember not to look at the problems so much, and rather look at the solutions. Anything Saturn brings to us now is our own karma and we must work through it. Saturn is over the sun of the USA, bringing a little restriction, at least until 2005 or so. Uranus will really help us find some unique solutions --if we are open -- to some problems that come up during the first part of the Uranian transit.
With Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces, we see a thing called mutual reception, each planet being in the others ruling sign. This promotes a real swapping of values promoting understanding, much as a student foreign exchange would give. It gives more comfort with that which was not understood and possibly feared before.
THE GREAT CAUSE AND THE LAST GASP OF THE PISCEAN AGE
The concepts of revolution (Uranus) and idealism (Neptune) become a constant for the next few years. Add to this Aquarius (joining your individual genius in support of a group cause) and Pisces (searching for that which feels like perfection, and support of the downtrodden and forgotten of society) and you may see where this is going: people joining together for the sake of a great humanitarian cause.
This could involve the feeling of needing to save people from themselves, possibly by reaching out to the misfortunate and dispossessed. We may focus our attention on the causes of the dispossessed because we start to realize (consciously or not) that this may very well be us at any moment. And spiritually speaking, they ARE us. People could start to feel that they can be a savior to themselves by helping to save THEM in some way. These are the times of salvation, the last hangover from the dwindling energy of the Piscean Age which we are attempting to surface from intact without drowning in our guilts and fears.
Sometimes these grand gestures don't work out. They tried prohibition under this last transit, and that idealistic law was quickly repealed when people realized they really liked to drink and the moral thing became secondary. This law was brought about by the Temperance movement, a group composed of zealous Christian women trying to save society.
The planets may foretell another type of event: the gathering of spiritual-minded people (always some of the most idealistic dreamers and believers of manifesting a better world) through the internet, a magical mix of technology and synchronicity. The internet is becoming a mirror of how fast our psyches connect, focus and evolve, an instantaneous transference of thought and deed.
THE HIGH ROAD OR THE LOW ROAD?
With every planetary focus of energy, we have choices on how to respond. We can go the high road or the low road. Each energy has its positive and negative points. Just like most people are a combination of negative and positive traits, we will probably get a little of both showing up in our culture.
The best result is that there comes a real group feeling among people or even better, a feeling of unity among all humans. This precipitates some sort of action to help those who can not help themselves. This transit will also promote the desire to be free to peacefully live a life that we have dreamed of living (however unorthodox) that is closer to our beliefs, closer to our heart, regardless of social or cultural norms.
The other end is that people in general will be drawn into fractious battling between groups that believe (I mean REALLY believe) that only THEY have the way of salvation for the country or planet. There would be fanatics who are very good at luring the unsuspected, as they promote their form of societal reform "for our own good."
Also, on the downside, there could be many feeling forgotten and depressed who want to escape through any means possible (drugs, religion, entertainment/TV/computer, etc) just to get some fleeting pleasure in a world that holds no meaning for them, as they (mistakenly or not) hold no real hope of becoming what they dreamed they wanted to be.
This could also bring on sporadic, disorganized, lashing out of these types of malcontents or any other group that has not been given a voice. It would be as if all the "lost souls" would find each other in a cause as a group. Again, whether their view of the world is true or not, it is their strong beliefs that are mixed with emotion and pushing to be recognized.
LIFE AS THE PERFECT DREAM
With the sign of Pisces being emphasized for the next seven years, it brings to us the highest and the lowest. It is at once one of the most spiritual of signs, willing to lose the identity and ego to become a part of the whole, of pure Spirit, and also one of the most susceptible to delusion because of the great desire to live life as the prefect dream.
Can the dream be a reality? Can we dream our reality into existence? In a way, we can and do. We imagine what it could be and if enough energy is placed and focused, it occurs. We just have to really look to make sure that the dream we're living is not actually a nightmare brought about by our own delusions while in a search for perfection
Above all, remember that whatever happens, unconditional love bends all the earthly rules. It brings the spiritual into the physical, and that is a big part of what living really is. It is the awakening to the reality of Spirit in our lives. Astrology is a tool that can guide us through the patterns and cycles of cosmic energy so that we can go with the flow of the Universal, and in a sense, gain true freedom.
That is why Uranus comes to us, to show us what to do to be able to be free to express ourselves and to accept change in our lives. Uranus energy wants to break through barriers of established norms to create a new platform, only to return 7 years later and shatter it again. -

Mon, December 8, 2008 - 2:53 PMUranus transits opposite Sun
Inner changes and struggles occur quite dramatically now, and if your outer world and the people around you are not changing along with you (which is more than likely!), you could feel extremely restless and tied down. Responsibilities that you readily accepted in the past now begin to feel overwhelming. You are likely questioning your life as it has been, and wondering if there is a whole lot more for you "somewhere out there". Others notice your changes and you could alienate a few people in the process. There is an expression that applies here: "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water". In your attempts to make changes in your life, and to rid yourself of limiting conditions, you are prone to making hasty decisions and leaving behind circumstances, jobs, or people that you might one day miss. Remember that the changes going on inside you are rapid and seem very pressing now, but later you might look back on this period of your life as a time when you didn't truly listen to your heart. It would be wise to leave major decision making to a better period. At the moment, you are not listening to your heart, but rather you are listening to a bruised ego. Sometimes, changes seem to be coming from the outside, but are usually a reflection of your own inner discontent with the routines and responsibilities in your life. Often, this transit coincides with a break up or separation, either one that seems forced upon you or one that you hastily initiate. Impatience with existing conditions and responsibilities in your life, whether they are a job, relationship, family life, or what have you, characterizes this period. The desire to express yourself more freely is strong. Advice here is to avoid expecting everyone and everything around you to change along with you. Recognize that your urge to rebel comes from a desire for more freedom and self-expression, and find ways to express yourself and your freedom that don't completely upset the things you have worked hard on building to date. Also recognize that as you listen to a bruised or misbehaving ego, you are prone to ignoring your deepest emotions, and as a result you may sever ties that later leave you wanting. It is especially important to be aware of this "blind spot".
From our Time Line Forecast Report: A time when considerable tension could accumulate, with release coming in the form of unexpected bursts of temper that may well involve other people. You may find yourself feeling rebellious, challenging those in authority or the established order.
This is a period of sudden awakenings that can lead to greater independence and personal freedom, more authentic self expression, and living your life more on your own terms. You may well have to take a stand, in a way that is controversial or sets you apart from the crowd. In fact, a direct confrontation with some authority in your life may be the splash of cold water in the face which forces you to wake up. Or, you may simply become unwilling (as this time period progresses) to live within the confines of your old life.
Positive Potentials:
Changes which are liberating and exhilarating, recharging you with excitement about life.
Negative Potentials:
If you have been suppressed and held in for a long time, your body may begin to call out in the form of symptoms involving the heart and circulatory system. Also, the potential benefits of this cycle may come at the cost of relinquishing something that is or has been important to you, such as a significant relationship, role, or position; protection and approval by family or society; the security of the known and familiar.
Remedies and Suggestions:
Find allies who support your quest for greater honesty and self-expression. Rather than blaming or resenting circumstances which may be forcing a change upon you, choose to acknowledge that you are now free to express and be other than you were. Do some sort of grounding, earthy activity on a regular basis during this time, such as gardening, walking in nature, working with clay, etc.
~This aspect brings externalization of self, breaking of ties and sometimes the formation of new ties to replace old ones. Marriage at this time indicates that you are marrying on impulse or perhaps to get away from some other undesirable tie. Or it may indicate marriage to an eccentric, neurotic, original or creative individual. It isn't a good time for marriage because you are touchy and start married life by getting into bed on the wrong foot. Creative impulses are strong; your magnetism helps you make rapid strides, if you are controlling the purely self centered and self-indulgent urges which are powerful. Watch nerves; put less stress on individuality and more on cooperativeness. Think less of forcing your will on others, more of understanding their wishes. If you're a genius or a great personality, this is an outstanding period of your life; if you are an ordinary mortal, you have to look out for expressing the temperament of genius without getting its results or meriting its rewards.
*Freedom, rebellion and resistance to authority are the key issues for this time period. You urgently want greater freedom from responsibilities in your personal life now.
+A time when considerable tension could accumulate, with release coming in the form of unexpected bursts of temper that may well involve other people. You may find yourself feeling rebellious, challenging those in authority or the established order.
