This isn't sign specific, but I just wanted to see how getting older has affected your tendencies. It's just the more I study different aspects of myself, do meditation/self-healing practices, etc. I find that my "normal" Virgo traits seem to mellow or even completely become neutralized. It's not that I completely lose them, but they just don't play an important role in my life any more. I just feel more balanced and compassionate, less critical and distant than when I was younger. Now, even though I still relate very well to the description of Virgo, I feel I can say...no, I'm not that way anymore.

Wed, March 12, 2008 - 12:12 PMI think there are negatives and positives to every sign, and finding the balance that you have found is the key.
When I'm stressed, I'm a bad virgo! lol -

Re: Maturity and its affect
Wed, March 12, 2008 - 12:36 PMI find that many aging Virgos remain childlike, some, even childish.
As far as changes, I've noticed some get more finicky, others let things go easier... -

Re: Maturity and its affect
Wed, March 12, 2008 - 1:46 PMHmm. Interesting. I've been told I'm youthful...not that I'm old by any means, but I maintain a level of wonder and interest and excitement about the world.
Maybe that meditation is a good thing. lol.

Re: Maturity and its affect
Wed, March 12, 2008 - 7:20 PMmy take on it is this, and i say fhis rom a "mature" virgo (43)... i've come to think that what you are "supposed" to be based on your sun sign, especialy the seemingly negative traits, are in actuality your *challenges* in life. these are the qualities that do mellow with age, but only if you address them consciously.
i used to be much more stressed about having things in their place for example, or being over critical and over analytical. all those are steriotypical virgoan traits. but i've learned to create more balance and harmony in my life, and have begun to soften around the edges, and have learned to accept people for who they are and be less judgemental. i feel that no longer do the steriotypes define me. -

Thu, March 13, 2008 - 6:59 AMDavid, that's awesome. I like the *challenges* concept. I think that's what's happened(ing) to me. (I'm 38).

Re: Maturity and its affect
Wed, March 12, 2008 - 10:42 PMHi! I'm new here, and wanted to introduce myself first... my name is Desiree, I'm 29 (big Saturn return happening in Virgo), and I'm a "rare" (LOL) 0 Degrees Virgo, sitting 4 hours and 28 minutes away from the cusp of Leo.
Great topic! I think about this a lot, actually. I haven't been the neat/tidy/organized Virgo since I was a child. I remember when I was 7, 8, and 9 years old that I used to get frustrated with my friends messing up my toys and my room that sometimes I'd ask them to leave so that I could organize!! I have memories of doing things like re-organizing my closet and feeling all was right with the world... also, I remember back to as young as 5 years old loving to be in my room alone and decorate/re-decorate. I was passionate as a child about rearranging my domicile and making it as homey as possible. I don't know why, but I tended to isolate myself a lot, too.
I'm amazed when I think back to those days... now, having to tidy up and organize anything feels like a total chore - I tend to put things like that off as long as possible, so my house can get very messy. (But when I do organize, I get really into it and don't want to stop until it's completely finished.) I'm still a perfectionist about getting any job done though - my feeling is if I'm going to bother to do something, it better be done right... or why expend the energy at all?
I used to reject the notion of being born on the cusp of Leo. I saw myself as such a hardcore Virgo that I'd get disgusted if I ever saw a horoscope, etc. that labelled me as a Leo. Now, the older I get, the more I affectionately embrace my Leo qualities. In fact, I think the Leo influence gives me a really good balance. I'm extremely social and in this way quite extroverted when around others in fun social situations, and the older I get the more I get in touch with that Leo need to express myself creatively. I accept the fact that when I feel like being social I love being surrounded by friendly, happy souls, and that I enjoy the attention I get from others. I feel getting in touch with these traits/needs is a very healthy thing for me as I mature. -

Re: Maturity and its affect
Thu, March 13, 2008 - 1:11 AMBy the way, the Virgo in me wants to nitpick at the fact that it says "affect" instead of "effect." ;) -

Re: Maturity and its affect
Mon, March 17, 2008 - 3:35 PMThe same can be said for me too. I find that many of my old Virgo tendencies have changed with maturity. Also, for me, that is why I learned about my astrological chart, so that I could see what I was born with, where my talents are, and what I need to work on. -

Re: Maturity and its affect
Tue, March 18, 2008 - 6:07 AMExactly! I mean, I didn't want to always be criticizing others, or be so rigid that I couldn't enjoy playtime. I still over analyze things, but I'm working on not being so compulsive about it. My anxiety is falling away, and my need to be in control of situations seems to lessen every day as I learn to let go and let whatever happens be ok.
blah blah blah -

Tue, March 18, 2008 - 12:25 PMI'm still working on letting go and giving up anxiety for control. Needless to say I don't need coffee much.
